NOTE: (2010-12-31) - 23:26-32 - The women mourners for Jesus were professional mourners, and did not understand the true nature of Jesus' crucifixion. It was for theirRedemption. But because of the nature of the bitter enmity against Jesus by His enemies, the Father had purposed such judgment - that the whole nation would suffer, both women and children. The Temple destruction by Emperor Titus in 70 AD - was but a tangible illustration of the seriousness of Jesus' persecution. The parable of Jesus and the evil husbandmen of the lord's vineyard, expresses the seriousness of Jesus' words to the women. God was about to punish the evil religious Jewish leaders, and replace them with true Presbyteries or Sanhedrins in each city, representing the One New Man.

23:33-49 - The Crucifixion of Jesus.- There is a 3-fold mocking of Jesus at His crucifixion. Like an innocent lamb, He opened not His mouth. He did ask His Father to forgive His persecutors, for they did not know what they were actually doing. The one thief on the cross who defended Jesus - received an amazing promise from Him, - “Today you shallbe with mein :Paradise!”

Paradise is closely connected with the New Jerusalem. Paul saw it in vision, whether in the body or not, he did not know. Little Chinese orphan children went there in groups, and also into the Holy City. At the end of the Millennium, this City will descend to earth! The New Earth will have no sea, and will be well able to contain this cube city of 1500 miles! Jesus came from this City and its glory to earth, and returned at His death and Resurrection. He is there today at the right hand of the Father, interceding for you and me, until His enemies be made His footstool. He then returns to earth as Lord of lords and King of kings - to set up His visible Kingdom for 1000 years, before turning all things over to God.

23:50-56a - Thank God for Joseph of Arimathaea. Better, thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who arranged through Joseph a burial fitting for His Son! J.A.W.
